The narrowly focussed cylindrical light beam (diameter < 4 mm) of these miniature diffuse sensors enables the reliable detection of objects in tubes as well as through holes or gaps. Even closely lined-up or laterally approaching objects whose distance from the sensor cannot be kept constant are detected without problem.

The rectangular miniature size (5 x 7 x 40 mm) of the 0507 types and the lateral light emission permit their mounting in places where space is limited. Moreover, the sensor may be fixed vertically or horizontally directly onto its support.

The diffuse sensors are available either with a calibrated operating distance of between 20 and 25 mm, as well as with 50 mm or 90 mm distance. Despite their miniature size, these devices are fully self-contained and therefore do not require an additional evaluation unit.
